  Title: Paintball

When I'm not at work, working on my house or playing AAT I'm probably doing something paintball related.  I've been playing for around 14 years now, so it?s been a big part in my 28 years on this planet.  From 1998-2004 I was the Capt of Team Impulse.  We competed in tournaments around the N.E. part of the U.S. winning a bunch of local events.  At the larger events like Skyball and International Armature Open however we only managed to finish mid pack.  Just being able to compete in events like Skyball though was a great experience.  I remember the 2002 skyball had around 290 teams total, six fields in the Toronto Skydome and basically non stop games for over two days.  Every 7 mins from around 7am till 1am 6 games would start.

By the fall of 2003 things started to go down hill.  Looking back I know that a lot of factors added to it but the reality of the matter is keeping 16 people happy is not an easy task.  By the spring of 2004 I was sick of the drama and fights between friends.  I was tired of the "he said she said" BS and decided that it was time to leave.  So after the April 2004 Global Paintball tourney I left the team.  A short while later the team broke up, about 1/2 of the members went to Stonemak Factory and the rest just left to do there own thing.

When I first left I had plans to join a new team.  The closest good offer I could find was with some guys in the Pittsburg area and the idea of driving out (4.5 hours one way) for two day practices every weekend just didn't sound all that appealing.  I guess it was more the two day part that was the deal breaker.  Next I tried to get things going with some guys in my area but lack of practice area made it hard to get off the ground.  By the time the summer hit I was sick of it all and just focused on working on my house.

After about a year I started to realize just how much I missed it.  I started to call those that I was still on talking terms with and try to find a group to get playing with again.  Slowly I started to talk a few players from the old team and meeting some new players.  It's been about a year now that we've been playing again and we finally have a good core group.

Well for anyone that?s still reading this here's a link to this weekends "high lights":
